How To Install Mod: Download the .zip file, on your computer go to your start menu and type %appdata% in the search bar, open your .minecraft folder, next open the bin folder, right click on your minecraft.jar file and open with winrar, 7zip, etc. Now copy all of the files and folders from the .zip file and drag them into the minecraft.jar file. Delete the meta-inf folder and close all windows. NOTE: If a mod comes with a resources folder, you will need to drag those contents into your current resources folder in order to experience everything the mod has to offer.
